ELBA was founded in 1956 by Luoni brothers.
The Company core business was originally based on the production of electrical equipments. Eight years later, in 1964, the management decided to add to the electrical department a dedicated mechanical one, totally focused to the production of high speed welding machines for thermoplastic materials.
Since then ELBA concentrates itself to the production of bag making machines and FAE, a new company, keeps the production of electrical equipments.
This was the first step in the flexible packaging field for ELBA and the ESM machine was the first one of a long series of successful equipments (more than 2,000), that have been sold worldwide during 50 years of activity.
During this period ELBA core business was concentrated in the production of high speed bag making machines dedicated to the market of: T-Shirt bag, wicketed bag, diapers bag, open mouth bag, and more, working with PE and PP film.
In 1976 FIBORSIN (the third Company of ELBA Group) starts its activity: the manufacturing of extruders for the production of plastic nets and reclosable systems (zippers).
A new challenge for ELBA took place in 1998, when Company FAMA was incorporated into ELBA Group.
FAMA, dedicated to the production of vacuum pouch making machines, gave ELBA the opportunity to wide its presence in the flexible packaging market.
